Investigates biogeochemical processes in lakes, including reactions influencing acid/base chemistry, redox conditions and metal cycling. He is currently the principal investigator of an international study dealing with reservoir management issues, including lake oxygenation and new sensor technologies for phytoplankton/cyanobacteria monitoring.
